Foreign the next several years he wrote radio scripts for National Broadcasting Company and Columbia Broadcasting System. During World World War II he served in the Army in the Pacific as a writer-producer of Army education and information programs. After the war he joined the staff of the Armed Forces Radio Service in Washington, District of Columbia, where he became a civilian writer-producer of radio shows. In 1953 he became the producer and chief writer of the “Army Hour,” which was broadcast on the Army’s worldwide radio network.
