David Allen Kring, American Geologist, researcher. Achievements include co-discovery of Chicxulub impact crater linked to mass extinction of dinosaurs and more than half of the plants and animals on earth; finding of shocked quartz in the structure, diagnostic evidence of its impact origin; first to demonstrate that it was produced precisely at the Cretaceous-Tertiary boundary.
