Adjunct 18th Infantry, 1890-1894. Participated in campaigns, Philippine Insurrection, islands of Negros and Panay, 1899-1901. Governor Cavite Province, P.I., 1903-1905.

Commander Port of Embarkation, Hoboken, New Jersey, August, 1917-September 9, 1918, and December 5, since 1918. Commanded 16th Division, Camp Kearny, California, September-November 30, 1918.
