This is the amazing story of Hanna Reitsch, one of the most celebrated women of the Third Reich. As a decorated test pilot for the Luftwaffe and a protege of Hitler, Reitsch was one of a handful of women who achieved personal success by breaking from the traditionally defined role of wife and mother in Nazi Germany.

(Wernher von Braun: The Man Who Sold the Moon is the first...)
Wernher von Braun: The Man Who Sold the Moon is the first critical biography of the young German aristocrat who created Hitler's most advanced terror weapon, the V-2 rocket, and who came to the U.S. to develop missiles as a central weapon of the Cold War. The book reveals that factions of the U.S. Army, in their zeal to have von Braun's team of scientists working for American interests, covered up what they knew about his complicity in Nazi causes and abetted him in the perpetuation of the myth he carefully created about his past.

Piszkiewicz tells the history of modern international terrorism from its beginning in 1958 with the Cuban hijacking of an airliner en route from Miami. He recounts the changing political orientation of the enemy, the growing viciousness of their attacks, and the blundering responses by the U.S. government: inaction, impotent verbal assaults, and ill-conceived acts of retaliation. This book highlights the challenge that faces America and the community of nations in putting terrorists out of business without adopting their tactics.

1997Quotations: "In my writing, I care more about individuals and the moral choices they make than I do about the broad current of history. I count among my favorite writers James M. Cain and Graham Greene, but I’ve been known to savor Elmore Leonard and James Ellroy, especially his recent ventures into nonfiction journalism."
