Chuu, Der-san was born on December 12, 1943 in Taipei, Taiwan. Son of Tze-Fae and Lin-Shiang Chuu.

Bachelor of Science in Physics, National Taiwan University, Taipei, 1966. Doctor of Philosophy in Physics, State University of New York, Buffalo, 1972.

Career

Visiting associate professor National Chiao Tung University, Hsin Chu, Taiwan, 1972—1974, full professor Taiwan, since 1975, chairman department electrophysics Taiwan, 1984—1985, director Institute Electro-optics Taiwan, 1984—1985, dean College of Science Taiwan, 1993—1996. Visiting professor State University of New York, Buffalo, 1983—1984. Consultant member Ministry Education, Taiwan, since 1984.
