In 1969 Dewi Anggraeni obtained a Master of Arts degree from the University of Indonesia. In 1978 she received a diploma in education at La Trobe University.
Career
Since 1986 Dewi Anggraeni has been a correspondent from Jakarta Indonesia for Tempo news magazine in Australia. Since 1994 she has been a permanent contributor to Jakarta Post. She is a language and cultural consultant.
Drawing on her lifetime of experience in crossing cultural boundaries, she has written novels, short stories, and essays that explore the problems of understanding and accommodation that individuals encounter as they attempt to bridge cultures.
