The cultivated nations of modernE urope and of America are all of A ryan stock, or, as some writers call them, Japhetians, from Japhet, son of Noah ;bnt 4,000 years have made wide distinctions in language, character, and name between the different branches of this great mother race. Sanskrit is, perhaps, the nearest to the A ryan, of any language now known; and philological investigation traces back to that source roots of all modern cultivated tongues, and indicates that their origin is not only A siatic, but A ryan.
