Career
He is also the President of the Drôme General Council. In 2008, after his election as senator, he had resigned his post as mayor of the commune of Bourg-de-Péage, which is the chef-lieu of the canton of the same name, represented by Guillaume in the General Council. He has been vice-president of the senate since 2011.
