He made his debut in the film industry through the 2012 Malayalam film Myavu Myavu Karimpoocha which was directed by Vipin Shankar and the music was done by Shafeek Rahman. Puthenchery was born to the popular Malayalam lyricist and screenwriter, late Gireesh Puthenchery and Beena in Kozhikode, India. He studied in Saint Joseph"s Boys Higher Secondary School in Kozhikode.
After completing school, Puthenchery enrolled in Saint Joseph"s College, Devagiri in Bachelor of Commerce.
During his college days, Puthenchery worked in many short films and musical albums as a lyricist and scriptwriter.
