In 1984 she received a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from the University of Bombay. In 1988 she obtained a Master of Arts degree in computer and information science from Temple University.
Career
From 1988 to 1990 she was a science analyst and programmer at Smith Kline & French laboratories. From 1990 to 1991 she was a systems analyst at Sterling Winthrop Pharmaceuticals Research Division in Malvern, Pennsylvania, and a lead systems analyst from 1991 to 1994.
From 1994 to 1995 she was a lead information scientist at Nycomed, Inc. in Wayne, Pennsylvania, and a senior information scientist from 1995 to 1997, since 1997 she has been a principal information scientist there. From 1986 to 1987 she was a graduate research assistant at computer and information science department at Temple University, Philadelphia, and at the Institute for Survey Research, Temple University, Philadelphia, from 1987 to 1988.
