Dmitry Leonidovich Lopatnikov is a Russian geographer, cultural figure, philanthropist and professor. He is the author of 4 books, including "Ecological perspectives of the post-industrial world" (Moscow, 2006). And also he had been one of the developers of the draft law of the Russian Federation "On the environmental impact assessment of the Russian Federation."

Dmitry Leonidovich Lopatnikov was born on June 6, 1961 in Moscow City, Russian Federation. His mother was Natalia Nikolaevna Lopatnikova, and Nicolay Krasheninnikov was his grandfather. His ancestors were from the village of Grushino of the Verkhnekhavsky district of the Voronezh region, where the noblemen Krasheninnikov, owned the estate.
Education
Dmitry Leonidovich graduated from the Faculty of Geography of the Moscow State Pedagogical Institute (now Moscow State Pedagogical University) in 1982.
Career
Dmitry Leonidovich Lopatnikov worked as a high-school teacher in 1985-1987, then as a lecturer at the University of Navarre in 1988-1991 in the city of Pamplona, Spain. In 1992-1994 Dmitry Leonidovich was a senior researcher of the Council for the allocation of productive forces and economic cooperation of the Ministry of Economy of the Russian Federation. In 1995-1999 an assistant to the Chairman of the Committee on Ecology of the State Duma, docent (from 2004), professor of the Department of Economic and Social Geography at the Moscow State Pedagogical University. At the same time, he worked at the Department of Geography of the World Economy of Moscow State University (since 2005).
