Donna Haigh Mitten

Mitten was born on October 21, 1947 in Velasco, Texas, United States; the daughter of Donald Earl Haigh and Norma Adle (Gougenheim) Haigh.

Education

Mitten received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1970 and a Master of Science degree in 1972 from Southern Illinois University.

Career

Mitten began her career as a research biologist at Monsanto Agricultural Products Company in 1972. Ten years later she took a position of a research scientist at Plant Genetics Inc. Since 1989 Donna has been a director of product development at Calgene Inc.

• Mitten is known for her product development of genetically engineered tomato, cotton and tapeseed.
