He died in May, 2015. A. Hare is the author of many books, articles and essays concerned with both the Old and New testaments and the Modern Christian Church. Hare’s books are among the finest in Christian exegesis and critical Christian thought available and include “Matthew” for the well known "Interpretation" series.

“Mark,” and “Chapters in the Life of Paul.” Fluent in Biblical Greek, Latin, and Hebrew, Hare has researched original Biblical Codex and manuscripts from around the world. Doctor Hare then earned a Masters of Sacred Theology at Union Theological Seminary, New York, going on to earn a Doctor of Theology (Doctor Theol) from that institution in 1965. Doctor Hare became a citizen of the United States in 1961.
Doctor Hare lived on the Maine Coast.
