Douglas Love was born on August 3, 1967, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States. He is the son of Martin and Beverly (Bernstein) Love.
Douglas Love started his career as an author of books for children. His works was published by Huppercollins, Disney Press, Morrow, Scott Foresman, Harcourt, World book and other publishing houses. In 1995, he started working as a CEO for Disney ABC Television Group, where he supervised the 150 person crew, cast and production team shooting over 100 episodes in New York.
Six years later, Love also became a CEO for Walden Family Playhouse and Executive Vice President Television & Live Entertainment for Anschutz Film Group. During this time he also worked as a Producing Executive Director at Shorenstein Hays Nederlander and as a CEO at HBO Company.
In 2006, he left his previous projects to become an Executive Director/ CEO of the History In Motion - a non-profit "living museum" project. He also started working as an Executive Consultant for World Book Company. He held that position for 10 years, and in 2016, went to Explore & More Children's Museum, where he worked as a CEO for 2 years.
Now Douglas Love works as a President and CEO of the Ashland Theatre Foundation, Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts and as an Executive Consultant and Author for World Book Company.
Douglas has created IP businesses for some of the largest television, publishing, reference, stage and digital companies in the world.
His Disney Channel live action television series, Out of the Box, debuted as the network's top rated daytime series, a position it maintained for seven years and 100+ episodes, for which he won three Parents' Choice Awards. Douglas's HBO Family television series of music videos, Jammin' Animals is now in its 13th year on the channel.
Anschutz Film Group/Walden Media built Love a $17M live theatre to develop new properties for the parent company's global network of entertainment complexes and performance centers. Love created and produced 8 original family musical productions.
His recent collaboration with World Book Encyclopedia/Worldbook.com created two new online products: World Book Kids - the most popular English language paid children's reference site in the world with more than 20 million subscribers. Dramatic Learning - the most popular arts education program in the world with more than 11 million paid subscribers in 23 countries.
Douglas is the author of more than 18 books for HarperCollins and has a new series of 10 books out this fall from online publisher Kiwi Storybooks.
Douglas also created a multi-media game promotion, now in its 10th year, for Organic Valley - North America's largest farmer-owned organic dairy.
