Dr. S. Mitra became Bachelor of Science (Hons.) in 1931, then Master of Science (Physics) in 1932, and Doctor of Science in 1938.
Career
Dr. S. Mitra worked as a Professor and the Head of Physics Department at Dacca University (now University of Dhaka). He also was a Principal at Birla College in Pila. He toured Europe and USSR many times. He also wrote about 50 articles and research papers.
