After his postdoctoral training, he started his career in the Bacteriology Department of Postgraduate institute –Institute of Public Health initially as Assistant Professor Bacteriology Department. Dr. Bukhari served the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia since 1991 in fields of Microbiology, Infection Prevention & Control, Employees Health Program, Public Health, Central sterilization & disinfection, Hazardous material & waste management. He was surveyor Infection Prevention & Control in Central Board of Accreditation of Healthcare Institutes (CBAHI). He remained a consultant for the preparation of government and private hospitals for JCI and the Australian Council for Healthcare standards International (ACHSI). He got Outstanding Award (OA) by ACHSI in 1st accreditation which is a record in the history of ACHSI. He remained Director of Laboratory & Blood Bank at Hera General Hospital. He was affiliated with the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences Umm Al Qura University Makkah, Saudi Arabia. His teaching and training experience for university and college students at Hera General Hospital was equivalent to Professor Microbiology. He is research and quality-oriented with more than 30 publications in national & international journals. The Infection Prevention & Control Department of Hera General Hospital under his leadership got the first award among five MOH hospitals of Makkah in consecutive five years.
