Cismondi created a 16mm color film entitled "Photographer's Notebook" in 1959. He was an instructor at San Jose State University from 1973, where he taught Photography. Edward has had numerous exhibits of his black and white photos in many galleries throughout the states. His works are in museums and private collections.
Cismondi has been influenced by the works of Alfred Stieglitz, Paul Strand and Henri Cartier-Bresson.
Cismondi was a member of the San Francisco Museum of Modem Art and Friends of Photography.
Edward Cismondi was married to Marie Louise (Billie) Cismondi. The marriage produced a son and two grandchildren.
