He has written four children"s books, the Amanda Greenleaf series. In 2001 he published his first novel, The Confessions of Nipper Mooney, a coming-of-age story set in 1950s and 1960s Newfoundland. A harpist, he has released a Civil Defense of Newfoundland music performed on the celtic harp, as well as an album of children"s music
He is currently a professor of both entrance-level English courses and creative writing courses at Memorial University of Newfoundland.
