Edward Alvin King was born on September 4, 1919 in Pratt City, Alabama. Son of Fred Elijah and Phyllis Ann (Robertson) King. He and first wife Phyllis had one child Linda Ann. Several step-sons from his second marriage to Beatrice Scrivens. Was the first Executive Director of the Dayton Human Relations Council; appointed by the Dayton City Commission in 1963 and served until his retirement in 1983.
