Served in Tirah Campaign, 1897 (medal with two clasps). South African Campaign, 1899-1901. With General Sir R. Buller’s army till Relief of Ladysmith (despatches, Queen’s medal, four clasps, King’s medal, two clasps).
Decorated for service in the field. Colonel in charge of Records, Lowland Group of Regimental Districts, Scotland; retired, 1909.
