Ranching in New Mexico, until age of 30. Ordained ministry Methodist Episcopal Church, South, 1895, and served as pastor and presiding elder. Returned to Kentucky, 1904.

Various pastorates, missionary secretary and presiding elder.

President Logan Female College, since 1924. Past Grand Chaplain, Independent Order of Odd fellows of Kentucky.
