Career

Water softening work, with Harrison Safety Boiler Works, Philadelphia, 1911-1913. Metallurgical work, Canadian Copper Company and International Nickel Company, Copper Cliff, Ontario, 1913-1919, advancing to assistant metallurgist, with special work in the West, investigating milling and smelting problems. With Engineering and Mining Journal, 1919-1931, acting editor, 1927.

Assistant secretary American Institute Mining and Metallurgical Engineers and editor Mining and Metallurgy magazine 1932-1948, secretary, 1949-1955, secretary emeritus, 1955-1956. Construction engineering, 1956-1958, secretary corrosion research council, 1958-1959, assistant to chairman, 1959-1960.
