Barrett, Edward Ware was born on September 4, 1866 in Athens, Georgia, United States. Son of of Thomas Glascock and Grace Arrington (Ware) B.

Education

Educated Richmond Academy, Augusta, Georgia. Washington and Lee University, Virginia, 1882-1885 (сivil engineering course).

Career

Began on Augusta Chronicle, 1885, and advanced to city editors Washington correspondent Atlanta Constitution, 1888-1897, also correspondent for many other papers. Went to Japan and China in winter of 1895, in closing period of the Chinese-Japanese War, for the Atlanta Constitution and New York World.

Principal owner and editor Birmingham Age-Herald, since 1897.

Political secretary Charles F. Crisp, of Georgia, while latter was speaker National House of Representatives, 1891-1895. Delaware from Georgia to Democratic National Convention, 1892, and delegate from Alabama to every Democratic National Convention, since 1897, except 1898.

Member Democratic National Committee from Alabama Visited England and France October and November 1918 as member party of 12 editors, guests of British Government, observing closing period of the war.
