Qualified for Indian Public Works at the Thomason College Roorkee, India. Indian Public Works, Irrigation Branch, 1872- 1884, having become 3rd grade Executive Engineer. Selected for work in the Egyptian Irrigation Service early in 1884.
Became InspectorGeneral, Lower Egypt, October 1892. Resigned Govt, employ for present post, 1895. Associate Member Commander of Order of Leopold Institute.
Chums, 1894-1907; Family Reader, 1910. 2nd class order Osmanieh and 2nd class order Medjidie; Managing Director La Society Anonyme du Bahera—Land Reclamation Company.
