From 1982 to 1985, Edwin E. Christian served as English instructor at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.
In 1983, he became exchange professor of English at Beijing Language Institute (now Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU)). The following year, he served as English instructor at Loma Linda University (LLU).
