Eijiro Kawai entered the service ot Ministry of Agriculture and Commerce and was sent to America for further studies. Returning home was appointed assistant professor, then professor at his alma mater (1920) and was again sent abroad (1932). Upon return Eijiro Kawai was appointed Dean of Faculty of Economics of his alma mater, but two years later was asked to resign because of his political ideology.
