The state should not use its authority to promote particular religious beliefs, nor should it require prayer or worship in the public schools. However, the state should leave students free to practice their own religious convictions.
God should be loved with hearts as well as with minds. To the best of their ability everyone needs to think things through in the light of reason. This means becoming aware of different points of view, and using his or her critical thinking to make sense of God's world.
