USHAKOVA, Elizaveta was born in 1895.
Studied at Golitsin Advanced Agriculture Courses for Women. 1931 graduated Timiryazev Agriculture Academy. 1937 postgrad, student, All-Union Lenin Academy, of Agriculture Science.
Deputy, Russian Soviet Federated Socialist Republic Supreme Soviet of 1941, 1951, 1955 and 1959 convocation. Member, Editorial Board, journals: since 1960, ‘‘Sad i ogorod” (Garden and Kitchen Garden). “Sad” (The Garden); “Krestyanka” (The Countrywoman).
“Kolkhoznoe proizvodstvo” (Kolkhoz Production). Developed method of vegetable crop selection for the USSR and method for the cultivation of selected seeds. 1931-1933 Director of students’ practical work, Fruit and Vegetable Faculty, Moscow Vegetable Institute, and later, Deputy Dir of Studies, Moscow Vegetable Institute.
1933-1934 Head, Chair of Vegetable Growing, Higher Communist Agriculture School, Moscow.
