Ellen Fader

Background

Ellen Strahs was born on December 9, 1952 in New York City. She's the daughter of Martin Paul and Norma (Weidenbaum) Strahs.

Education

Ellen studied at the State University of New York, New Paltz, BA, Psychology;

the Fordham University, Lincoln Center, MSW;

the Ackerman Institute for the Family, Post-graduate certificate;

the EMDR Institute, Certified EMDR Clinician, Certified Consultant;

the Safe Horizon, Inc., trained mediator;

the Columbia University, SIFI Certificate – approved to supervise other social workers in training as they complete post-graduate MSW degrees.

She is licensed by the State of New York as an LCSW-R.

Career

Ellen worked as Managing editor, production manager in Oracle Newspaper, New Paltz, 1974—1978. She was an Assistant editor in Random House/Alfred A. Knopf, New York City, 1979—1981; а Contracts coordinator in Hammond Music Enterprises, 1981.

Fader also held positions such as: Senior vice president, secretary Price Communications Corporation, 1981—1989; executive vice president, secretary Republican Broadcasting Corporation, 1981—1989; Vice president, secretary Atlas Broadcasting Corporation, 1983—1989,Senior vice president of administration and corporation affairs at Osborn Communications Corporation, 1989—1995. She was a director of Telemotion Inc. (1986—1989) and Fairmont Communications Corporation (1987—1989).

After spending two decades as a broadcasting industry executive, Ellen obtained her Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work and received LMSW. After three years of supervised clinical experience including the requisite number of hours of clinical practice, she obtained LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) from the New York State Education Department, which oversees the licensure and practice with the Board of Regents. Now she works and continues to develop her skills in this area.
