On October 1, 1996, the firm formerly known as Jeffers, Brook, Kreager & Gragg, Incorporated. changed its name to Jeffers & Banack, Incorporated as the result of the addition of fifteen former members of Foster, Lewis, Langley, Gardner & Banack, Incorporated. joining the firm. The Jeffers, Brook, Kreager & Gragg, Incorporated. firm was established in May 1986 when William A. Jeffers, Junior Steven R. Brook, Michael L. Kreager and David South. Gragg, all shareholders of two of the larger firms in San Antonio decided to form a quality, business-oriented law firm.
The fifteen attorneys who joined the firm on October 1, 1996 left the firm of Foster, Lewis, Langley, Gardner & Banack, which traced its roots back to 1928, when it was founded by A.J. Lewis, Judge Richard French Spencer and former Texas Senator Woodville J. Rogers. With the addition of Ralph Langley, Ben Foster, Pat Gardner and Emerson Banack, Junior in the ensuing years, the firm took its present name in 1970.
