Emil Imanov was born on 7 January 1983, in Sumgait.
From 1999 to 2004, Imanov studied at the Faculty of Dentistry, Azerbaijan Medical University. Following his graduation, he was awarded a scholarship through the Austrian Exchange Service (OeAD) and, from 2005 to 2006, completed specialized training in maxillofacial surgery and implantology at the Medical University of Graz, Austria. From 2009 to 2011, he further advanced his expertise by undertaking a series of short-term professional courses in implantology at leading medical universities and private clinics in Finland and Germany, including those in Freiburg, Erlangen, Ulm, and Nuremberg. From 2012 to 2014, he pursued and successfully completed a Master’s degree in Oral Implantology at the Goethe University Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
Imanov began his professional career as a maxillofacial surgeon at Sumgait City Hospital No. 2 (2006–2011) and concurrently practiced as a surgical dentist and implantologist at Estetik Diş Clinic (2008–2015) and the Implant Estetik Stomatology Center (2008–2022). In 2015, he was appointed chief physician of Implant Art Clinic, and since 2020, he has been serving as chief physician, oral surgeon, and implantologist at Pro Implant Estetik Stomatology Clinic.
Since 2010, he has served as deputy chairman of the Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry, providing guidance and training for dental professionals. From 2015 to 2019, he was the national representative of the International Team for Implantology (ITI) in Azerbaijan, representing the organization and promoting international standards of implantology. Between 2016 and 2020, he served as president of the Azerbaijan Association of Implantologists, leading initiatives to advance implantology practice in the country.
Imanov is also active in academic and publishing endeavors. He co-authored the textbook “Local Anesthesia in Dental Practice” (2009), approved by the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan for medical education. In 2009, he founded the scientific-practical journals “Stomatology” and “Dental Implantology”. Since 2014, he has been editor-in-chief of the Azerbaijani edition of the international dental publication Quintessenz, overseeing editorial work and advancing scholarly communication in dentistry.
