Kvachadze, a professor of Tiflis University. Worked at the Leningrad Medical Academy. Military doctor during World War II. Lecturer in the Military Surgery Department of the Crimea Medical Institute, Simferopol’, 1945-1949.
Head of the Surgery Department of the Kremlin Hospital, 1949-1952. Professor, and dean of Vilnius State University, 1969. Became involved in the human rights movement, defending Lithuanian catholics harassed by the Committee for State Security, and thus attracted the attention of the Committee for State Security.
Emigrated to Austria, 1979. Active in Vienna helping Soviet immigrants with their everyday needs.
