Career
Giese was killed in Action of 5 June 1917 against Royal Navy warships aboard the torpedo boat S20. The Kriegsmarine destroyer Z12 of World World War II was named the Erich Giese in the honor of Giese. Also, a street is named in his honor in Munich, Germany.
