Achievements include discovery of mechanisms that control hysteresis of the PTH-calcium relationship, influence of acid-base status on parathyroid gland function in hypercalcemia; discovery of calcimimetics that prevent vascular calcification, spontaneous regression of vascular calcification, metabolic acidosis prevents extraskeletal calcification.
