This book melds folklore, the ufo and militia counterculture scene and the "small town" preoccupations of mid-America with the lore of the supernatural. The financial legacy of Benjamin X. Emery, an unusually lucky man with the hobby of arcane archeology, who is experiencing his first lifetime on the planet Oceana in order to learn about water and animal existence, intersects with the destiny of a government project researching "remote viewing" and other aspects of ESP and mind control which has located itself in the former historical museum of Mr. Emery’s home town Creatures such as "Toe Quez La Men Chen", the talking panther god, a giant mole and a shape-changing scorpion-peacock begin to manifest in context of a "rescue team" activated remotely by the "Outlanders" linked with an adolescent girl research subject at the "secret project" location who has far more esp and remote hypnotic "conjuring" ability than the "scientists" can imagine. She appeals to unknown "powers that be" to rescue her from this secret project and is answered with voices and visions which begin to manifest in a variety of unexpected locations.. Triggered simultaneously in various areas of timespace, past and future, these "powers", including the mysterious curse of the traveling coin stone deciphered by Benjamin X. Emery, activate a nexus of people from all over the US and Mexico as well as their terrestrial spirit guides to form a wildly assembled "documentary film expedition" to the small Indiana town of Gardenbrook and thus evolves the humorous yet intricately-woven adventure.

This is a book of occult science in which the beliefs and experiences of the author are included in a way different from investigations according to the scientific principle that one removes specific personal context and simply looks at facts objectively. In the practice of occult science, one pays attention also to the subtleties within the mind of the individual as well as the subtle images and events which may be perceived in the environment perhaps as the result of hidden or occult causes. By analogy, the structure of mass on the nano level creates patterns which can sometimes be discerned by the naked eye. But the patterns of subtle causality and structure which can be discerned only with special lenses and equipment imply a cosmic ordering which is innate and not always directly visible at the surface of events. Therefore, decisions about how to view events, and on what level intelligence may be active must be part of the narrations of those occultly probing the surface of observed anomaly.
