Rothschild received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Art from the University of Ulster in 1993. Six years later she earned her Master of Arts degree from Goldsmith's College (nowadays Goldsmiths, University of London).
Rothschild has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions since 1995. Eva had solo exhibitions at the Kunsthalle Zürich in 2004, South London Gallery in 2007, Kunstverein Hannover in 2011, Nasher Sculpture Centre in 2012, Hugh Lane in Dublin in 2014 and Australian Centre for Contemporary Art in Melbourne in 2018.
Eva's 2011 solo "Hot Touch" was the inaugural exhibition at the Hepworth Wakefield. She has a materials based studio practice but also works on major public and outdoor commissions. In June 2017, Rothschild's work "Empire", 2011 was unveiled at the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden as part of the redeveloped Walker Art Center campus, marking her first permanent outdoor work in the United States. In 2019, she represents Ireland at the 58th Venice Biennale. Rothschild lives and works in London.

2018Rothschild's sculptures, constructed with an irregular geometry influenced by the work of Constantin Brancusi and New Age spiritualism, explore the relationship between materiality, classical architecture and New Age spiritualism.
Rothschild's work is predominantly sculptural and she works across a range of materials including aluminium, jesmonite, leather, fabric and perspex.
In 2014, Eva was named a Royal Academician by the Royal Academy in London.
