Fedor was born in 1838 in Kiev, Ukraine.
He graduated from St. Petersburg University, where he sang in the student choir. After three years and against the wishes of his father, he gave up his career as a lawyer to study singing in Italy with Pietro Repetto. After two years of study at the Milan Conservatory in the class of Professor Repetto, he sang in the opera houses of Rome, Milan, Oporto.
The main roles are:Gennaro (“Lucrezia Borgia” by Gaetano Donizetti), Almaviva (“The Barber of Seville” by Gioacchino Rossini), Herzog, Manrico (“Rigoletto,“ Trovatore ” by Giuseppe Verdi), Don Juan (“The Stone Guest ” by Alexander Sergeevich Dargomyzhsky'),The Pretender (“Boris Godunov” by Modest Petrovich Mussorgsky), Vakula (“The Blacksmith Vakula” by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky), the Synodal (“The Demon” by Anton Rubinstein) and others. He performed as a concert singer. He went on tour in Voronezh in 1870 and in 1872.
Fedor had a daughter: Vera Komissarzhevskaya.
