Feoktist Alekseevich Berezovsky was a novelist, revolutionary and party official. He wrote several novels which he published in newspapers Stepnoy kray, Zheleznodorozhnik, Sibirskaya zhizn, Omsky vestnik, and many others. He took an active part in the political life of Soviet Russia.
Background
Feoktist Alekseevich Berezovsky was born on January 1, (in other sources, on the 13th) 1877 in Omsk, Russian Federation in the family of a soldier who died in the Russian-Turkish war of 1877-1878. After the early death of his mother, he was brought up by his grandfather, a carpenter, a Siberian Cossack. When he was 6 years old he worked in a match factory, when he took 12 he worked as a laborer in a printing house, then a typesetter. After that, he was a regent in a church choir.
Education
Feoktist Alekseevich graduated from the 4th grade of elementary school and took 6-month telegraph courses (moved from a private telegraph to the head of the railway station).
Career
Feoktist Alekseevich began to publish his works (without a signature) in the Omsk newspaper Stepnoy Kray in 1900. In 1905 he was a chairman of the Strike Committee at Zima station. In 1917, Feoktist Alekseevich was a member of the Council of Soldiers' Deputies, later moved to the position of chairman of the Transcaucasian Land Union.
