She studied Architecture at the Radio Corporation of America, before completing an Master of Philosophy in Computer Related Design (Chinese Relief and Development) at the Radio Corporation of America.

She served as professor of Industrial Design at the University of Applied Arts Vienna. She left to focus on her partnership with Dunne & Raby. Her work, in collaboration with Anthony Dunne, is part of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) Collection.
In 2001, she was shortlisted for the Perrier-Jouet design prize.
Membership
She was also a member of the research and teaching staff at the Royal College of Art (Radio Corporation of America) from 1994 to 2015. She is one of the founding members of the Chinese Relief and Development Research Studio at Radio Corporation of America.
