Career

Practiced in South Dakot, Wyoming and Montana, headquarters Belle Fourche, South Dakot, 1903-1919, Long Beach, California, 1919-1931. Served as assistant health officer City of Long Beach. Physician to indigent.

Originator and president Townsend Plan, Inc. (monthly pensions, based on a 3 percent gross income tax above $250 Missouri exemption, to the United States citizens over 60 years of age, to include all totally and permanently disabled persons between 18 and 60 years of age, with certain restrictions). President Townsend National Weekly, Inc., United Public Company.

Also president and trustee Townsend Foundation.
