Mckeever, Francis Michael was born on May 8, 1901 in Santa Ana, California, United States. Son of Thomas and Margaret (Devin) Mckeever.


Bachelor of Arts, University California, 1922, Doctor of Medicine 1927.


Post graduate training in orthopedic surgery Massachusetts General and Boston Children’s Hosps., 1929-1931. Began practice of orthopedic surgery, Los Angeles, 1931. Visiting orthopedic surgeon Los Angeles General Hospital, Los Angeles Children’s Hospital.

Professor orthodpedic surgery emeritus University of Southern California School Medicine.


Served with Military Cross, Australia, chief orthopedic service and chief surgical service Percy Jones General and Convalescent Hospital, Battle Creek, Michigan Appointed to National Advisory Council for care of Veterans, 1946. Trustee Orthopedic Research and Education Foundation. Member American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.

American College of Surgeons fellow (regent 1958-1973. Member of the American Medical Association (Executive Committee orthopedic section), American Orthopedic Association, American Surgical Association, Pacific Coast Surgical Society, American Academy Orthopedic Surgeons (president 1952-1953), Chicago Surgical Society, Western Orthopedic Association, California Medical Society, Los Angeles County Medical Association.
