Career

Teacher public schools, 1896-1899. County atty, Jack County, Texas, 1900-1904, also attorney Rhode Island Railway 3 years. Pastor Stanford, Tax., and Columbus Street Church, Waco, until 1918.

General secretary exac. board Baptist General Convention of Texas, 1918-1928. President College of Marshall, Texas, 1928-1942, now president emeritus. Chairman Southern Baptist Hospital Commission since 1916.

Led in building Hillcrest Memorial Hospital, Waco, and in movement to build Southern Baptist Hospital, New Orleans.
