Frank B. Johnston was born in 1904.
Frank Johnston worked for the Philadelphia Electric Company, Times Wide World Photos (now a division of Associated Press) and the Philadelphia Daily News before joining the staff of The Philadelphia Inquirer about 1936. He became head of its photographic department shortly before World War II and remained in that post until his death. Frank Johnston also served in the U.S. Navy.
