Briggs, Frank Obadiah was born on August 12, 1851 in Concord, New Hampshire, United States. Son of James F. and Roxanna (Smith) Briggs.

Education

Graduated from the United States Military Academy, 1872.

Career

Second Lieutenant 2d United States Infantry, 1872-1877. Resigned from army, December 16, 1877. Began service with John A. Roebling’s Sons Company, 1877, assistant treasurer, since 1883.

Member Trenton School Board, 1884-1892. Mayor Trenton, 1899-1902. Member State Board Education, 1901-1902.

State treasurer New Jersey, 1902-1907. Elected United States senator, February 5, 1907, for term 1907-1913. Chairman Republican State Committee, since 1904.

Secretary New Jersey Wire Cloth Company and official of other Roebling allied companies. 1st vice president Norfolk & Portsmouth Traction Company. Director Trenton Savings Fund Society Address: Trenton, New Jersey.
