This was awarded to recognize extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership by Nazi Germany during World World War World War II Hans Grohmann was born in Nixdorf, Sudetenland on the 16 October 1919. During World World War II, he was the commander of the 1st Company, 3rd Steamship Panzer Grenadier Regiment Deutschland, 2nd Steamship Panzer Division Das Reich. He was awarded the Knight"s Cross during the Battle of Normandy.
Grohmann survived the war and died on the 7 April 2000 in Erlangen.
