Career
A lecturer and farmer, he was first elected to Dáil Éireann as a Fianna Fáil Teachta Dála (Territorial Decoration) for the Kerry constituency at the September 1927 general election. He was re-elected at the next seven general elections, and died in 1945 while still in office. From the 1937 general election, he was elected for the Kerry South constituency.
Honor Crowley, a daughter of the Member of Parliament, John Pius Boland, remained a Territorial Decoration until her death in 1966.
