Entered Indian Staff Corps, 1875. Served in 19th Punjab Infantry, 13th (District of Columbia (United States.)) Bengal Lancers, and 1st Lancers, Hyderabad Contingent. Seen active service in Afghanistan, Egypt, Soudan, Lushai Hills, Chinese Lushai Hills, Manipur, Chitral Expedition, and Tirah Expedition.
Foreign above services received brevets of major and lieutenant-colonel., 5 medals with 8 clasps, and mentioned in despatches 6 times.
Staff appointments in peace time, Deputy-Assistant-Adjutant-General Assam District, Military Secretary to His Excellency the Commander-in-Chief in India, A. Attorney - General Peshawar District. Recreatims: shooting, fishing, and most games. C. B. 1902; retired; late Colonel on the Staff" commanding Sialkot.
