Teacher Kang's College Budo, Uganda, 1971-1973. Assistant lecturer Makerere University, 1973-1975. Head of limnology section Eaffro, Jinja, 1976-1993.

Director of research Fisheries Research Institute, since 1993. Consultant United Nations Environment Programme, Uganda, 1987, evaluation team selected by Dutch Government, Uganda, 1995. Committee member United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization/MAB advisory committee on Ecotones, southern committee of International Decade for East African Great Lakes (IDEAL).
