After becoming consultant to the Japanese navy and director of the Japan Aquatic Research Institute, appointed director of the Investigation and Research Department of the Marine Products Board. Made public a number of researches including articles on the growth of prawns and rearing and abnormality of Tatejima barnacles. Awarded the prize of the Japan Agricultural Academy and the prize of the Japan Industrial Invention Promotion Association for his research on prawns. As Japanese "epresentative, made investigations of the radioactive ashes which fell on the Fukuryu Maru following the atomic explosionof March 1954.
