Fujisawa Ikunosuke was born in 1859.
He was appointed Commerce and Industry Minister in 1926, Speaker of the Lower House in 1930, a member of the House of Peers and a Privy Councillor in 1934. He was imprisoned in 1882 for accusing a prefectural governor in connection with the Fukushima Affair. His charge was insulting a Government official. He won reputation gradually as a member of the Sendai Municipal Assembly, as its chairman and as a member of the Miyagi Prefectural Assembly.
